    Mentor Reflection – 12/09

On 12/09, I met with my mentor, Denise, and so much came to light. God is intentionally shaping my discipline—particularly in how I handle food, emotional responses, and personal responsibility. I realized that surrounding myself with spiritually minded people is strengthening my walk and mindset.

I am learning that temperance is not punishment, but development. Choosing not to return to old habits is evidence of spiritual maturity. Hebrews 12:11 reminds me that discipline is not pleasant in the moment, but it produces righteousness in those who submit to it.

I also recognized that not everyone will understand my journey or what God is working out in me. Proverbs 25:28 challenged me to steward my spirit well and not allow old habits or emotions to control me.

Denise helped me acknowledge the growth already taking place—completing my IT degree, working on the album, continuing to evaluate myself honestly, and aligning my decisions with my long-term identity and calling. Philippians 1:6 reassures me that what God has started will continue to develop.
