I wanted to share something HUGE I discovered this week about Facebook’s algorithm — and it instantly improved my reach AND engagement. If you’re posting your affiliate or product links the wrong way, Facebook is quietly suppressing your content and barely showing it to anyone.
Here’s the fix:
1️⃣ Post your picture and your caption as normal.
Make it value-driven, relatable, or educational. No salesy vibe.
2️⃣ DO NOT put your link in the main post.
This is the #1 killer of Facebook reach. Any link in the main text tells Facebook:
“This person is trying to pull users off the platform.” And Facebook immediately hides the post.
3️⃣ Put your link in the FIRST COMMENT instead.
Your caption ends with something like: “Link will be in the comments.” Then as soon as you post, drop the link as your first comment and PIN it.
4️⃣ Engage with anyone who reacts or comments.
Every reply bumps the post back into the algorithm again.
⭐ Why This Works:
Facebook wants to keep people on the platform
Posts with links get suppressed
Posts WITHOUT links get pushed further
Comments boost reach
Pinned comments keep everything clean and easy to find
Since switching to this method, my posts have gotten WAY more views, comments, and engagement — even from people I didn’t expect (my boss even jumped in on one of them ?).
If your Facebook posts have been feeling “dead” lately, try this. It works. And it’s the easiest algorithm hack you’ll ever use.
If anyone wants examples or wants me to break down how I structure the post itself, just let me know and I’ll share what’s working for me.
