Build What Can Outlive You
Meeting Notes | August 23, 2026
Prayer and opening: Bishop Allen
Scripture: Psalm 100 – Elder Brown
Song: You are my peace
Theme: Development • Leadership • Succession • Legacy • Forward Movement
Tonight's Kingdom Prosperity Fellowship teaching challenged us to move beyond inspiration into application.
God does not simply want us to hear, learn, and become encouraged. What we receive should transform the way we think, lead, build, prepare others, and make decisions.
Jesus didn't simply gather followers—He developed people who could continue the mission after His physical departure.
That is a powerful model for leadership, business, ministry, family, and legacy.
The question is not only:
What am I accomplishing today?
We must also ask:
What am I building today that can continue tomorrow—even without me?
THE DEVELOPMENT MODEL OF JESUS
Jesus demonstrated a pattern of leadership and development.
He taught His disciples. He allowed them to watch. He gave them responsibilities. He allowed them to practice. He allowed them to fail. He corrected them. He restored them. He released them again. He prepared them for His departure. And ultimately, they carried the mission forward.
The lesson is simple:
Watch → Learn → Practice → Fail → Receive Correction → Try Again → Grow → Lead → Teach Others → Build Succession
We should not spend our lives merely collecting information.
What we learn should eventually become something we can apply, teach, transfer, and multiply.
10 STRATEGIC POINTS 1. Who Am I Pouring Into? Your knowledge, wisdom, experience, and skills should not stop with you. Identify someone you can teach and develop. 2. What Do I Know That Nobody Else Knows? Document your knowledge, systems, processes, skills, and important information so it can be transferred to others. 3. What Am I Doing That Someone Else Should Be Learning? Don't hold every responsibility. What you're doing today could become someone else's training ground. 4. Am I Developing Leaders or Just Collecting Helpers? Don't only teach people to follow instructions. Develop people who can think, make decisions, lead, and eventually teach others. 5. Do I Give People Room to Learn? Jesus allowed His disciples to practice and make mistakes. Failure can be part of development when we learn, receive correction, and try again. 6. Do I Correct to Develop or Just Criticize? Correction should produce growth. Teach people what needs to change, how to improve, and what to do differently next time. 7. Am I Threatened When Someone Can Do What I Do Better? Strong leaders aren't intimidated by talented people. Recognize their strengths, build teams, and multiply what everyone brings to the table. 8. Have I Built Something That Can Function Without Me? Create systems, document processes, train others, and delegate. The mission shouldn't stop simply because you're unavailable. 9. Who Could Carry the Mission If I Couldn't Do It Tomorrow? Prepare successors. Think of Moses and Joshua, David and Solomon, Paul and Timothy, and Jesus and His disciples. Leadership prepares the next person. 10. What Am I Building Right Now That Can Outlive Me? Build beyond today. Books, businesses, property, music, investments, digital products, systems, intellectual property, ministry, and knowledge can create lasting impact and legacy.
