A website, equipment, training, titles, ideas, contracts, branding, or constant activity can create the appearance of success.
The better question is whether people are being helped and whether meaningful results are being produced.
Activity without fruit is not the same as productivity.
3. Know What Fruit Looks Like for What You Are Building
Every assignment has different evidence of fruit.
Business fruit may include sales, profit, customers, retention, referrals, and people helped.
Career fruit may include growing skills, increased responsibility, trust, and advancement.
Ministry fruit may include changed lives, spiritual growth, impact, and people helped.
Marketing fruit may include leads, calls, appointments, and conversions.
God blesses us so that we can become a blessing to others.
4. Address Unfruitfulness Instead of Ignoring It
When something is not working, do not keep pretending that it is simply because you are emotionally attached to it.
Fear, comfort, familiarity, and a desire for security can keep us from making necessary changes.
Faith sometimes requires movement before we can see the entire outcome.
5. Do Not Cut Everything Off Too Quickly
Scripture: Luke 13:8-9
Something that is not producing today may not need to be abandoned immediately.
Give it attention. Dig around it. Fertilize it. Give it a defined period of time. Then evaluate it again.
Paced productivity means giving an assignment enough cultivation to determine whether it can become fruitful.
6. Pruning Is Not Always Punishment
Scripture: John 15:2
God also prunes things that are already producing because they can produce more.
Pruning may mean removing an unnecessary expense, eliminating a product nobody buys, changing an inefficient process, delegating a responsibility, or reducing activities that consume time needed for the main assignment.

Application for This Week
Choose one main goal and give it a clear measurement. Bishop used the example of setting a goal of five customers within a defined period. At the end of that period, do not only say, 'I worked hard.'
